This morning my mom showed me that in Genesis chapter 5 there is a genealogy. The names listed are random, it doesn't list all of Adam's sons, etc. So the names had to be chosen for this geneology for a reason. Well it turns out that the name meanings create a promise from God.
Adam - Man
Seth - Appointed
Enosh - Mortal
Kenan - Sorrow
Mahalalel - The blessed God
Jared - Shall come down
Enoch - Teaching
Methuselah - his death shall bring
Lamech - Despairing
Noah - Comfort
Now you see the message
Man is appointed. Mortal sorrow ( which is when man sinned and was seperated from God). The blessed God shall come down teaching ( which is Jesus coming and teaching ). His death shall bring the despairing comfort.
AND THIS IS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT!!!!!!!! It's just one of over 300 Old Testament prophesies that Jesus fulfilled!
